As a part of the Youth Service America (YSA) and Sodexo Inc., Stop Hungar initiative, youth in the Birmingham Metro Area led a drive to collect over 650 lbs of food that was distributed to food banks and directly to families across Central Alabama. 

Food rescues, which distribute food that would otherwise be discarded by local establishments is rerouted to area food banks and food distribution centers.  In addition to over 750 meals being provided, the program has a positive impact on the environment. 

From the food rescues alone, there were 3,211 lbs of Carbon Dioxide not expended and 15,959 gallons of water that would have otherwise been used as wastewater.

2022 Birmingham Metro High School Baseball Showcase


(Birmingham)  The 2nd Annual Birmingham Metro High School Baseball Showcase is accepting nominations.  Sponsored by Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program, the Showcase provides an opportunity for Metro Area Youth to hone their skills, participate in mentoring, community service, and career development activities.  In 2021 over (40) athletes participated in the programs and (3) area High Schools received donations of over $1800 each.

Faith - Based Little League Comes to Central Alabama




(Birmingham) The Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation has established a Faith-Based Little League debuting in Spring 2022.  Parents may sign up players as Free Agents to be drafted onto a team.  Churches, community, and recreational organizations may enter teams into the league. for more information contact Brian E. "Pathway to Williamsport"



(Birmingham)  Little League International is the Nation's premier Little League organization hosting the annual Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.  For the first time in over 50 years, the Birmingham Metro Area will have a pathway to this elite tournament.  The Birmingham Metro Little League was charted in April 2021 and will debut for competition in the Spring of 2022.

Over (11) Municipalities and (100+) neighborhoods will compete in our Birmingham Metro Little League Championship Tournament on Memorial Day weekend 2022, towards earning a spot in the District 4 Tournament 

Affiliation with the Birmingham Metro Little League is open to exiting baseball and softball teams and park leagues with programs for boys and girls T-Ball through Age 12.  Leagues may operate independently and apply to enter the league's All-Star Team in the Championship Tournament.  Existing teams not affiliated with a league may apply to participate in the Birmingham Metro Little League Regular Season (12) games. Individual players may register and will be assigned to one of our affiliated teams.

AEB Legacy League Gains Support of Major League Baseball

(Birmingham) The Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation has been awarded a local affiliate of Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program  The program provides a direct pipeline for talented athletes to have their statistics and baseball accomplishments reported to the MLB's youth development office toward identifying talented urban players. The AEB Legacy RBI League consists of (2) Divisions; Covering All Bases - Developmental Division and the Right Way Academy Elite Division.

Volunteer for Field Upgrade Day

Join us as we upgrade the Little League T Ball Field at Inglenook School located at 4200 Inglenook Street in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, April 23, from 9:00AM - 1:00PM.

All we need is (1) hour of your time. We will be cutting grass, removing weeds and rocks from the infield, and spreading new infield dirt.  We also will pick up the paper around the field and plant flowers. Up2Us Sports Awards (3) AmeriCorp Vistas to Foundation



(Birmingham) The Up2Us Sports organization has awarded the Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation a grant to hire (3) Full-time AmeriCorp Summer Vistas to work for (9) weeks in support of the Foundation's programs.  Each Vista will be employed for (9) weeks, over the months of June - August 2021.  AmeriCorp Vistas will serve as student mentors, academic advisors, and counselors.  Vistas will also have responsibilities in the areas of fundraising, public relations, and grant writing.

AEB Legacy Baseball League Registration

(Birmingham) Registration is now open for the AEB Legacy Baseball League,  Parents of Boys and Girls Ages 3-10 can register for our instructional baseball league. As an extension of our foundation's mentorship and academic enrichment programs, all players in the AEB Legacy League will have access to academic enrichment in the areas of reading, math computer science, and personal finance.

Registration will end on April 21st, 2021.  Practice will begin the week of April 26,2021. Register today through the following link.

Registration Open For the Local Pitch, Hit & Run and Jr. HR Derby





(Birmingham) The Arthur & Eva Brown Foundation has renewed its partnership with Major League Baseball to sponsor local Pitch, Hit and Run Events in the Inglenook Community of Birmingham and in Hale County, Alabama through a partnership with St. Luke A.M.E. Church in Havana.

In addition, we are a local host of the MLB Sponsored Jr. HomeRun Derby. The MLB Jr. HomeRun Derby will take place on May 1, 2021, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the CenterPoint CourtHouse Field.  Ages 13-17 register here http://jrhrd2021.leagueapps.com/events/2014801.


Baseball The Right Way 


(Birmingham) The Right Way Baseball Academy Inc. and the Arthur & Eva Brown Foundation Inc. have reached an agreement to form a partnership toward increasing the capacity of each group to deliver mentoring, academic enrichment, and service-learning opportunities to elite athletes participating in the sports of baseball and softball.  Together these organizations provide academic enrichment and player development instruction to over (80) scholar-athletes ages 6 - 18 years of age.

Despite the Pandemic .....

Despite the COVID 19 Pandemic of 2020, the Arthur & Eva Brown Foundation Inc. has been able to work for the benefit of low-income families and individuals.  Clothing donations, food drives and grant writing have been the primary undertakings while following stay-at-home orders and shut downs.

Through these efforts the foundation donated more than (500) items of clothing to King’s Ranch Hannah Home and Goodwill.

Through a community partnership with a local food distribution organization, the Arthur & Eva Brown Foundation is providing over (350) food boxes across metro Birmingham and in Hale County, Alabama between December 5 - December 28, 2020.
