Hershey Foundation Awards Grant

(Birmingham) The Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation was awarded a $500 grant for a service project led by local youth. The grant was written to support the efforts of Ramsay HS student Steve Brown III who is leading a volunteer drive for a baseball field renovation project.  The project is a part of a larger effort to upgrade a community baseball field for the upcoming baseball season including a local MLB sponsored Pitch, Hit and Run Competition.  Steve who is a Baseball and Football player aims to recruit his fellow athletes to support the project on Global Youth Service Day 2021.

Good Sports Inc. Awards Grant

(Birmingham) The Good Sports Foundation Inc. has granted a two-year award to the Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation Inc. in support of our youth development program Covering All Bases.  The grant will provide up to (3) donations of equipment and apparel over the next (2) years in order to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for parents whose children participate in the program.

The Covering All Bases (CAB) program is designed to identify urban males and females ages 3 -15 years of age, who demonstrate a high level of skill in the sports of baseball and softball.  As members of the CAB Athletic Feeder Program, each member participates in Travel Baseball/Softball Competition, Academic Enrichment Activities, and Life Coaching. This year, the program is focusing on establishing a non-competitive Instructional Tee Ball League.

Thanks to Good Sports Inc. and their grant, we can support and mentor more young athletes and make sports fun as well as meaningful through our associated programs and services.
